A) Cosmetic Bonding Back to top
What is composite bonding ?
Bonding is a form of smile sculpture accomplished with a composite resin which enables patients with imperfections in their teeth to have more attractive smiles. Bonding can be used to close spaces, change the color of the teeth, mask any discolorations, repair chips, alter the size or shape of teeth, and give jumbled or crooked teeth a straight-looking appearance.
How is it done?
Bonding is a simple procedure. First, a solution is painted on the tooth enamel. A liquid resin is then flowed onto the tooth surface. A putty-like resin is then sculpted on the tooth and hardened with a bright light to a durable finish. It is polished and smoothed to a life-like luster. The bonding process is usually reversible. Depending on the number of teeth involved, one visit of several hours is usually all that is needed. Generally, no anesthesia is required.
How long does it last?
The life of bonding is 8 - 10 years depending on your lifestyle. If you drink, smoke or use your teeth as tools, you may not see the entire life expectancy of your bonding. At the end of the bonding's term, a resurfacing (1/2 the cost) usually suffices. A complete rebonding rarely is necessary.
B) Porcelain Veneers Back to top
Dr Ogo Eze performs world class porcelain laminate veneers. This method of aesthetic enhancement has the capacity to completely transform your smile into one that you will be proud of for years to come. Dr. Eze’s veneers are custom made for each and every patient, and with the help of her team of interdisciplinary experts, the veneers are meticulously affixed to your teeth to redefine your smile.
Dental procedures, such as fillings, cleanings, and root canals, are commonly employed to achieve and maintain a healthy mouth and beautiful smile, however, an important and often overlooked aspect of having a healthy smile is the art and benefits of cosmetics. Advanced technology in this field allows patients to attain white, straight, and natural looking teeth. Porcelain veneers are one of the most highly effective ways to help cosmetically develop or restore an impressive smile.

What are Porcelain Veneers? Back to top
At our practice, all veneers are custom made for each patient. A mould of your teeth is taken and from that mould, our lab is able to create realistic-looking teeth that will make your smile look fabulous. The porcelain material used to make these veneers is extraordinarily strong and sculpted by our world-class technicians. Then, Dr. Eze meticulously bonds the veneers to your teeth and a new smile is born.
Porcelain Veneers - What are the Benefits? Back to top
Porcelain Laminate Veneers have numerous advantages over other cosmetic techniques:
- The natural tooth structure is preserved and the surrounding soft tissue remains untouched.
- Individual teeth of dissimilar colour and contour can be perfectly matched.
- Permanent stains, such as those caused by antibiotics administered during childhood or excessive smoking, can be completely masked.
- Natural teeth weakened by root canal treatment and old fillings can be strengthened by this process.
- Fractured and trauma-damaged teeth can be restored without the invasive tooth reduction that is necessary for full crown coverage.
- Misaligned teeth can be corrected to produce a more perfect smile.
- Local anaesthetics are often not required for this procedure.
Porcelain Veneers - Who Is a Candidate? Back to top
A wide spectrum of patients can qualify for veneers, however, in some circumstances veneers might not be the appropriate approach for restoring a smile. If you are missing teeth, need major orthodontic work, or have weak teeth, it may be necessary to have additional or alternative work done by our team prior to incorporating veneers into your dental program.
With the advent of implants, the wonders of orthodontic treatment, and modern therapies such as root canals and more, the majority of patients can be viable candidates to have porcelain laminate veneers placed.
Come in today for a no fee consultation with Dr. Eze to see if you are a candidate for porcelain veneers.
Porcelain Veneers - What are the Costs? Back to top
Porcelain laminate veneers are very cost effective in their longevity and customization. Please see our professional fees
For patients with slightly crooked or stained, but otherwise reasonably healthy teeth, the cost of veneers is a fraction of the price of orthodontics, which can take years of uncomfortable treatment and cost hundreds to thousands of dollars each year. In addition, laser whitening would be necessary to restore teeth to their original shade. With veneers, on the other hand, there are instant results that will last for decades. Thus, in the long run they are certainly a cost, time, and energy effective option
Within a week, veneers can completely transform your smile. We are confident that you will look at yourself in the mirror and say "Wow!”
Porcelain Veneers - What is the Procedure? Back to top
The process of making customized porcelain veneers is complex and entails intricate precision. It requires numerous steps, any of which, if done improperly, could result in teeth that appear too large, uneven, the wrong colour, or fake. Dr. Eze describes the process of placing porcelain veneers as a 5-step encounter:
1.) Impressions: Impressions are taken and photographs of the original smile are examined. Tooth colour match is determined.
2.) Waxup: A laboratory technician, using these moulds and pictures, creates a realistic smile design in wax of what the patient’s new teeth will look like.
3.) Temps: Using the smile design, exact replica temporary veneers are created.
4.) Modify: Dr. Eze, a lab technician, and the patient analyze how the temporary veneers look, determining what needs to be changed and what should remain the same prior to final placement.
5.) Placement: The lab technician creates the customized porcelain veneers and Dr. Eze skilfully places these veneers in the patient’s mouth.
The results from such a procedure can be stunning, transforming crooked, yellow, or misaligned teeth into a beautiful natural smile (before and afters). The entire process can usually be accomplished in just 1 week, requiring only two appointments, however Dr. Eze is, of course, able to accommodate rush cases as they arise.
Porcelain Veneers - How long do they last? Back to top
Two of the major questions that people ask when it comes to porcelain laminate veneers are, "What is the long-term success rate?" and "How long will they last?".
Porcelain Veneers last longer than bleaching or bonding; porcelain laminate veneers have a life expectancy of 15 years or longer. They are resistant to stains and chips, are extremely natural looking, and will not discolour over time.
Of course, as with any dental procedure, veneers may last more or less than the average expectancy, and accidents such as breakage can happen as with natural teeth.
C) All Ceramic Crowns Back to top
Many of our dental crowns and bridges are made purely with biocompatible ceramic materials especially for use on the front teeth where aesthetics are vital. This is made possible with the advent of laser technology and computer generated images allowing for computer aided design and milling. (CAD-CAM) Another technique is by using pressed ceramics which have a natural fluorescence allowing for beautiful restorations.
The great advantage of these systems is that there is no metal substructure and hence the dreaded black line is a thing of the past. This enables us to provide crowns and bridges which are natural, highly aesthetic and long lasting.
Our all ceramic crowns and bridges of choice are 3M Lava, Procera and Ivoclar E-Max.
D) Inlays and Onlays Back to top
Inlays and onlays are used to replace your silver Restoration, any level of decay or moderate Fracture on a portion of any tooth. These restorations are Usually made from composite resin material, porcelain, or gold. Once placed, they are virtually undetectable in the mouth, and they conserve much of your natural tooth structure.
An inlay covers only one or two surfaces of the tooth and is used to restore a small amount of decay. An onlay actually covers one or more cusps (the chewing Surface of the tooth.) And offers greater protection isolation of the tooth and removal of the old silver restoration or the inlay/ Onlay is created from porcelain, composite resin material, or gold in a laboratory. The inlay/onlay is then bonded securely into place. Inlay and onlays usually take 2 or 3 appointments to complete.
Traditional restorations can reduce the strength of a natural tooth by up to 50%. As an alternative, inlays and onlay, being bonded directly onto the the tooth using special high-strength resign, can actually increase the strength of a tooth by up to 75%. As a result, they last longer.
E) Teeth Whitening Back to top
What is teeth whitening?
Teeth whitening is a simple, safe oxygenating procedure used to lighten and brighten discoloured teeth. Whitening is most effective in whitening teeth which have become discoloured due to yellowing from age, tobacco, alcohol, coffee, tea, medications, chemically-induced stains, excessive fluoride, accidents, trauma, and decay. Whitening is not effective in whitening existing crowns or porcelain veneers. We have had moderate success in lightening bonding.
How is it done? How long does it take?
We have three methods. Combination whitening, Laser whitening (eg. Zoom) and home whitening. Laser whitening is accomplished through one office visit; the whitening solution is applied to the front surfaces of the teeth and activated with a safe, effective cool Laser whitening lamp. With home whitening, you apply a mild whitening solution inside a custom-made tray that you wear for several hours during the day or at night. Or with the combination you have both- best of both worlds! With the office Laser whitening system, most discoloured teeth require only one office visit of about two hours. Typically a maintenance bleaching tray (Home Kit) for 1 or 2 weeks is suggested after to follow the office Laser whitening. The home system can take about 4 weeks for good results.
Can whitening damage teeth?
Documented university studies demonstrate that whitening causes no damage to the tooth structure. It does not cause brittleness or weakening of teeth; no cavities or gum problems have been shown to form because of the bleaching. Some people can experience sensitivity to hot and cold for a day or two as a side effect.

F) Clearstep Invisible Braces Back to top
To put it simply, The Clearstep System is a way of achieving a beautiful smile invisibly.
The System is comprised of a number of different invisible methods that we use in conjunction with clear positioners.
The clear positioners are excellent at straightening out overlapping, crooked or gappy teeth, but they can’t solve every problem on their own.
So Clearstep decided that to solve this problem, we needed a full range of invisible orthodontics – and The Clearstep System was born!
The important thing to remember is that although we use other methods as well as the clear positioners – they are all still invisible!
The clear positioners continue to be the main method of treatment with The Clearstep System. They are wafer thin and made of a transparent medical grade plastic.
They are designed so that you wear each positioner for approximately two weeks. Little by little they gently move your teeth from their present to your desired position, as you work through the steps.
They are very comfortable and don’t impact on your speech, but importantly, are removable so you can take them out for an important business meeting or a hot date!
Contact your Clearstep practitioner for an appointment and they will be able to tell you everything you need to know. In the meantime, here’s a little bit of info…
- You will have an initial consultation where your Clearstep practitioner will answer your questions and have a look at your teeth.
- They will take an impression, some photographs and x-rays, so that a diagnosis can be carried out.
- At your next appointment, your Clearstep practitioner will discuss your treatment options with you. If you’re happy to proceed, your practitioner will advise Clearstep to make your invisible braces.
- Treatment is supplied in stages, so you will need to go back and see your Clearstep practitioner every once in a while for a check up and a new impression, for your treatment to continue.
